Volusia County Library Center on City Island is a Depository for Federal Documents with a selection of documents focused on the needs of the County. The depository library receives 27 percent of Federal Government items.
Government Documents include books, pamphlets, CDs, DVDs, microfiche and websites.
Most books, magazines ,paper documents and microfiche are located on the shelves at the back of the adult section of the library at City Island and are arranged by Government Document (SuDoc) Numbers. Government CDs and DVDs are housed in the Government Documents office. Ask at the Periodicals Window or at the Reference Desk for Assistance.
As directed by Congress, the primary method of making publications available to the Federal Depository Library Program is the Internet .
Government websites, selected by the depository, are available from any Internet computer. Hundreds of government websites are cataloged in Surfcat. -- The remaining depository selected websites-- (over ten thousand arranged by Sudoc Number) may be accessed on a database listing at http://www.daytonabeachfol.org/govdoc.pdf. This site also contains information on tangible items received by the depository since 2006.
