Besides giving a number of Gifts throughout the year, the Friends are actively involved in ... Fundraising While you're visiting the Library, stop in at the Friends Store... The Friends Store is a book sale that never ends. We have books, magazines, tapes and CDs, videos, note cards, and a variety of doodads—all at rock-bottom prices. We are located in the Library, at the end of the hallway between the computers and videos. We try to stay open Monday through Friday from 10 to 4, and Saturday from 10 to 1:00, but all our workers are volunteers who have been known to get sick or take vacations.... The Friends of the Library Center sponsors several ongoing Fundraising Projects: Donations accepted in any amount to honor individuals or commemorate important events They maintain a library shelf plate in honor or in memory of the person of the donor's choice They maintain an Endowment Fund - individual or family endowments can be established through gifts and bequests Endowment Policy The Friends of the Library Center will give the Library Center a gift of the interest on their endowment funds to be used for the purchase of library materials, print and non-print, excluding furniture and equipment Established endowments with subject specifications and other specific guidelines for purchases will remain as stated. Future Library donors who establish endowments of $5,000 or more may designate a broad category (videos, fiction, reference) or subject area (science, business, mysteries, etc.). Funds of less than $5,000 will be added directly to the general Friends of the Library Center Endowment, which has no restrictions on the category or the subject matter of materials to be purchased. All donations of $1,000 or more to the Endowment Fund will be recognized with a gift plate on the Donor Board. All selections are made by the library staff, following the Collection Development Policy for the Volusia County Library System. YOU Can Help Our Library Grow! Sponsor a Library end panel Name-Plate in honor or in memory of the person of your choice. An engraved end panel Name-Plate is a $25.00 donation for individuals and $35.00 for businesses.
