Be a Friend!

Support the Friends of the Library Center

Friends of the Library is a citizen group that supplies the extras to the Daytona Beach Regional Library @ City Island to supplement tax provided support. Friends purchase such things as computer equipment, furniture, books on CD, books, DVDs and also strengthen the children’s reading programs.  Another extra the Friends have provided is funds for our library staff to attend out of town educational programs and library meetings.

You don’t have to invest volunteer time to be a “Library Friend” although volunteering is another Friends project. The Library benefits from an expression of your interest through the payment of dues.

You benefit too because you will receive the Friends of the Library newsletter telling about special events.

What our libraries do …

Public Libraries are open for longer hours and on more days of the week than any other educational enterprise.

Florida school-age children visit their public library over 4 million times each year.

Florida Public libraries have more than 3,000,000 registered borrowers, 26 per cent of the state’s population, giving them the largest enrollment of any of the state’s educational programs.
